Excitation-emission spectrum

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004187

A three-dimensional plot or contour map that displays the fluorescence emission intensity as a function of both the excitation and emission wavelengths. It is generated by collecting multiple emission spectra at different excitation wavelengths. This type of spectrum provides a unique fingerprint for a fluorescent substance.
