Emission spectrum
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003852
A plot of the intensity of emitted electromagnetic radiation as a function of wavelength or frequency, produced when a substance transitions from an excited state to a lower energy state. Each substance has a unique emission spectrum, which serves as a fingerprint for its identification. It is typically measured using a spectrofluorometer.
