Emission flux
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003851
The rate at which a substance is transferred from a source into the atmosphere per unit area of that source. It quantifies the amount of a gas or particulate matter entering the air from a defined surface, such as a body of water, soil, or an industrial site. Emission flux is typically expressed in units of mass per unit area per unit time, for example, kilograms per square meter per second.
