Illuminance
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005588
The density of luminous flux arriving at a point on a surface, calculated as the flux divided by the area of the surface when the light is uniformly distributed. It quantifies the intensity of visible light received by the surface from a light source. The standard international unit for illuminance is the lux, which is defined as one lumen per square meter.
