Spectral spheradiance
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011152
The radiant flux of photons arriving at a specific point from all directions, per unit of spherical surface area and per unit wavelength interval. It quantifies the total amount of light energy available for photochemical reactions at a point within a medium, such as the atmosphere. Spectral spheradiance is also known as the scalar irradiance or actinic flux and is measured in units of photons per square meter per second per nanometer (photons m⁻² s⁻¹ nm⁻¹).
