Momentum spectrum

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007536

A plot showing the distribution of ion abundance as a function of their momentum-to-charge ratio (mv/z). This type of spectrum is generated by instruments, such as some magnetic sector mass spectrometers, that separate ions based on their momentum. The resulting plot is distinct from a mass spectrum, which displays ion abundance versus the mass-to-charge ratio.
