Momentum separator
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007535
A device that separates components of a gas mixture based on differences in their momentum, typically achieved by directing a gas jet against a surface. Lighter molecules are deflected more easily than heavier ones, allowing for their differential collection. This type of separator is used as an interface in gas chromatography-mass spectrometry.
