Front surface geometry
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004679
An optical arrangement in luminescence spectroscopy where the excitation radiation is directed onto the front surface of the sample, and the emitted luminescence is collected from the same side. This geometry is particularly useful for analyzing opaque or highly concentrated samples where the excitation light would be significantly absorbed before reaching the bulk of the sample. It minimizes inner filter effects.
