System resolution
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011775
The ability of an analytical instrument or method to distinguish between two closely spaced features in a spectrum or signal. It quantifies the sharpness of peaks or the clarity of separation between different components. In surface chemical analysis, system resolution is often expressed as the full width at half maximum (FWHM) of a spectral peak.
