Depth resolution parameter

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003041

A quantitative measure of the sharpness of an interface observed in a depth profile, often expressed as the distance over which the signal intensity changes from 16% to 84% of its maximum value. This parameter reflects the ability of a surface analysis technique to resolve compositional changes with depth. A smaller value indicates better depth resolution.
