Backscattering spectrum

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001087

A plot of the number of detected backscattered particles as a function of their kinetic energy, obtained in techniques like Rutherford backscattering spectrometry. This spectrum provides information about the elemental composition and depth distribution of atoms within a sample. The energy of the backscattered particles is characteristic of the mass of the scattering atoms.
