Backscattering yield
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001088
The number of backscattered electrons emitted per incident primary electron when a sample is irradiated. This quantity is influenced by the atomic number of the sample material and the energy of the incident electrons. It is a dimensionless value, often used in surface analysis techniques.
