Secondary-electron yield

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010636

The ratio of the number of secondary electrons emitted from a surface to the number of primary electrons incident upon it. This yield is influenced by the material's properties, the energy and angle of incidence of the primary electrons, and the surface condition. It is a key parameter in electron microscopy and electron spectroscopy.
