Energy resolution

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003929

A measure of the ability of a spectrometer or detector to distinguish between two closely spaced energy levels or photon energies. It is typically expressed as the full width at half maximum (FWHM) of a spectral peak, relative to the peak's central energy. A lower FWHM value indicates better energy resolution.
