Integrated intensity

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005915

The total area under a spectral band or peak, representing the sum of the intensities at all wavelengths or wavenumbers within that band. This value is proportional to the number of absorbing or emitting species and is often used for quantitative analysis. It is expressed in units of intensity multiplied by the spectral range, such as absorbance units times wavenumbers.
