Geiger-Muller counter tube
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004790
A gas-filled radiation detector that produces a large electrical pulse when a single ionizing particle or photon enters its active volume. It operates in a region where the gas amplification factor is independent of the primary ionization, leading to a saturated output signal. This device is widely used for detecting alpha, beta, and gamma radiation due to its high sensitivity.
