Daly detector
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002851
A type of ion detector used in mass spectrometry that converts ions into electrons, which are then amplified. Ions strike a high-voltage conversion dynode, releasing secondary electrons that are subsequently accelerated towards a scintillator. The light produced by the scintillator is then detected by a photomultiplier tube, providing high sensitivity and a wide dynamic range.
