Resistance
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010234
The opposition offered by a conductor to the passage of an electric current, resulting in the conversion of electrical energy into heat. It is a measure of how much a material impedes the flow of charge. Resistance is quantified in ohms (Ω) and is defined by Ohm's law as the ratio of voltage across the conductor to the current flowing through it.
