Resistance

The opposition offered by a medium or object to the flow of energy, mass, or momentum. In meteorology, this can refer to aerodynamic resistance to turbulent transport of heat, moisture, or gases from a surface into the atmosphere. It is a key parameter in surface energy balance and evapotranspiration models.
