Aerodynamic resistance

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-003333

The opposition encountered by an object as it moves through the air, primarily due to drag. This resistance is influenced by the object's shape, size, speed, and the density of the air. Minimizing aerodynamic resistance is a key goal in the design of vehicles and structures exposed to wind.
