Penman-Monteith method

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-010658

A widely used model for estimating evapotranspiration from a vegetated surface, combining energy balance and aerodynamic principles with a surface resistance term. It considers factors such as net radiation, air temperature, humidity, wind speed, and canopy resistance to water vapor transfer. This method is considered one of the most physically sound approaches for calculating actual evapotranspiration and is often used in hydrological modeling and agricultural water management.
