Linear momentum
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-006983
A vector quantity representing the product of an object's mass and its velocity, indicating the object's resistance to changes in its state of motion. In atmospheric dynamics, the conservation of linear momentum is a fundamental principle governing the movement of air parcels and large-scale atmospheric flows. Its units are typically kilogram meters per second (kg m/s).
