Conductivity
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-004587
A measure of a material's ability to conduct electricity, heat, or sound. In atmospheric science, electrical conductivity quantifies how readily electric charge can move through the air, influenced by the concentration of ions. Thermal conductivity describes the rate at which heat energy is transferred through a substance, affecting temperature profiles in the atmosphere and ground.
