Ion mobility
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-006642
The speed at which an ion moves through a gas or liquid under the influence of an electric field, normalized by the electric field strength. It is a measure of how easily an ion can drift through a medium and depends on the ion's charge, mass, and the properties of the surrounding gas molecules. Ion mobility is typically expressed in units of square centimeters per volt-second.
