Conductivity
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000809
The ability of a material to conduct an electric current, which is the reciprocal of resistivity. In formation evaluation, it is primarily influenced by the salinity of the formation water, the amount of water present, and the presence of conductive minerals. It is measured in units of millisiemens per meter (mS/m) or millimhos per meter (mmho/m).
