Fracture conductivity

Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001568

A quantitative measure of a hydraulic fracture's ability to transmit fluids to the wellbore, defined as the product of the fracture permeability and the propped fracture width. It represents the flow capacity of the pathway created by the fracturing treatment, contrasting with the much lower permeability of the surrounding reservoir rock. Fracture conductivity is expressed in units of millidarcy-feet (md-ft) or darcy-meters, and its value is a primary input for production forecasting models.
