Infinite-conductivity fracture
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-004358
A theoretical hydraulic fracture that offers no resistance to fluid flow along its length, meaning the pressure drop within the fracture itself is negligible. This idealization simplifies the analysis of fractured well performance by assuming uniform pressure along the fracture face. Real fractures always exhibit some degree of conductivity impairment due to proppant pack characteristics.
