Fracture half-length
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001570
The distance from the center of a wellbore to the tip of one wing of a hydraulic fracture, assuming a symmetrical fracture extending in opposite directions. This parameter defines the extent of the stimulated reservoir volume and is a key output of fracture design models and post-treatment well test analysis. For a vertically fractured vertical well, the total fracture length from tip to tip is twice the half-length.
