Fracture permeability
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001572
The ability of a rock to transmit fluids through a network of natural or induced fractures, rather than through its intergranular pore spaces. This type of permeability can significantly enhance fluid flow in otherwise low-permeability reservoirs, such as shales or tight carbonates. It is a measure of the connectivity and aperture of the fracture system.
