Closure pressure
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000707
The pressure at which a hydraulic fracture closes after the pumping of fracturing fluid has ceased, indicating the minimum stress perpendicular to the fracture plane. This pressure is determined from pressure decline analysis after a minifrac or main fracture treatment. It represents the stress required to keep the fracture open and is a key parameter for fracture design.
