Frac gradient

Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001555

The pressure gradient, expressed in pounds per square inch per foot (psi/ft), at which a rock formation will fracture. This value represents the minimum pressure required to initiate and propagate a hydraulic fracture in the reservoir rock. It is a key parameter for designing hydraulic fracturing treatments and preventing unintended fracturing of overlying formations.
