Sandout
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003251
A condition during hydraulic fracturing where the proppant concentration in the fracturing fluid becomes too high, causing the proppant to bridge off and prematurely plug the fracture or the wellbore. This prevents further fluid injection and can severely limit the effectiveness of the fracture treatment. It is often indicated by a sudden increase in pumping pressure.
