Crosslinker
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000902
A chemical agent added to a polymer solution to create chemical bonds between individual polymer chains, forming a more viscous, gel-like fluid. In hydraulic fracturing, crosslinkers are used to increase the viscosity of fracturing fluids, enabling them to transport proppant effectively into the created fractures. Common crosslinkers include borate and zirconium compounds.
