Breaker
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000449
A chemical additive used in drilling and completion fluids, particularly in fracturing operations, to reduce the viscosity of a polymer-based fluid. Breakers degrade the polymer chains, allowing the fluid to flow back more easily from the formation after treatment. Common breakers include enzymes or oxidizing agents.
