Hydroxyethylcellulose
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001926
A nonionic, water-soluble polymer used as a viscosifier and fluid-loss additive in drilling, completion, and workover fluids. Derived from cellulose, it creates viscosity with minimal impact on formation permeability, making it suitable for reservoir applications. Its nonionic character provides stability in fluids with high salinity and hardness, and it is easily broken down by enzymes or oxidizers for cleanup.
