Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000635

The distinctive waveform of a seismic reflection, determined by its amplitude, frequency, and phase. This waveform is influenced by the acoustic impedance contrasts at geological interfaces and the properties of the intervening rock layers. Changes in seismic character can indicate variations in lithology, fluid content, or porosity within a reservoir.
