Carboxymethyl hydroxyethylcellulose
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-004254
A synthetic polymer derived from cellulose, used as a viscosifier and fluid loss control agent in water-based drilling fluids. This additive increases the viscosity of the mud, improving its ability to carry cuttings, and forms a low-permeability filter cake on the wellbore wall to minimize fluid invasion into the formation. It is effective across a broad range of temperatures and salinities.
