HP starch
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001869
Hydroxypropyl starch, a modified natural polymer used as a fluid loss control additive and viscosifier in water-based drilling fluids. It forms a thin, low-permeability filter cake on the wellbore wall, reducing the invasion of drilling fluid into permeable formations. HP starch is effective across a broad range of temperatures and salinities.
