Chemical diversion
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000646
A technique used to temporarily block fluid flow into highly permeable zones within a reservoir, redirecting treatment fluids to less permeable areas. This method employs chemical agents that form a temporary barrier, allowing for more uniform stimulation or treatment across the entire pay zone. The chemicals typically degrade over time, restoring flow to the diverted zones.
