Overflush

A volume of fluid injected into a well after a primary treatment fluid, such as acid or a proppant slurry. Its purpose is to displace the treatment fluid away from the wellbore and into the formation, or to clean the wellbore of residual treatment chemicals. The volume and type of overflush fluid are carefully selected based on the treatment objective.
