Acid

A chemical solution, typically hydrochloric acid or hydrofluoric acid, used in drilling and completion operations to dissolve formation rock or scale. It is injected into the wellbore to enlarge pore spaces, remove damage, or clean perforations, thereby improving fluid flow. Acid treatments are a common form of well stimulation.
