Acidize

To treat a wellbore or reservoir formation with acid to dissolve soluble materials, enlarge pore spaces, and improve fluid flow. This process removes damage near the wellbore or stimulates production from carbonate reservoirs. Hydrochloric acid is commonly used for limestone and dolomite formations, while hydrofluoric acid is applied to sandstone.
