Acidizing
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000037
A well stimulation technique that involves injecting an acid solution into a reservoir to dissolve soluble minerals in the rock matrix or to etch fracture faces. This process enhances the permeability of the formation, improving the flow of oil or gas into the wellbore. Hydrochloric acid is commonly used for carbonate reservoirs, while hydrofluoric acid is used for sandstone.
