Matrix acidizing

Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002297

A well stimulation technique that involves injecting acid into the reservoir rock at pressures below the formation fracturing pressure. The acid dissolves soluble minerals in the pore spaces, enlarging the natural flow paths and improving the permeability of the near-wellbore region. This treatment is commonly applied to carbonate reservoirs using hydrochloric acid.
