Acidity

The measure of hydrogen ion concentration in a drilling fluid, indicating its position on the pH scale. High acidity (low pH) can lead to corrosion of drilling equipment and degradation of certain drilling fluid additives. It is typically controlled by adding caustic soda or other alkaline chemicals to maintain a desired pH range.
