Acid effect
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000028
The influence of acidic drilling fluids or formation fluids on the response of certain logging tools, particularly those sensitive to pH or chemical composition. For example, the presence of acid can alter the electrical conductivity of the mud filtrate, affecting resistivity measurements. This effect must be considered and corrected for during log interpretation to obtain accurate formation properties.
