Friction effect
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001588
The pressure drop that occurs as fluids flow through a pipe or wellbore due to resistance from the pipe walls and internal turbulence. This effect is influenced by fluid viscosity, flow rate, and pipe roughness. In production logging, friction can cause differences between static and flowing pressure measurements.
