Fluid-friction reducer

Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001511

A chemical additive used in drilling or stimulation fluids to decrease the frictional pressure losses as the fluid flows through pipes and tubulars. These polymers reduce turbulence and allow for higher pumping rates or lower pumping pressures. They are commonly used in hydraulic fracturing to minimize horsepower requirements.
