Vertical lift
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-004032
The process of moving reservoir fluids from the bottom of the wellbore to the surface against gravity and frictional forces. This involves overcoming the hydrostatic pressure of the fluid column and the pressure losses due to friction within the tubing. The efficiency of vertical lift is a key factor in determining a well's production rate and is influenced by fluid properties and tubing design.
