Nitrogen lift

Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002544

An artificial lift method where nitrogen gas is injected into the production tubing to lighten the fluid column and reduce the hydrostatic pressure, allowing reservoir fluids to flow to the surface. This technique is used to unload liquids from gas wells or to initiate flow in oil wells with insufficient reservoir pressure. Nitrogen is injected at a controlled rate and pressure through a gas lift mandrel.
